Writing is a skill that has a whole lot of benefits. Not only to you as a student but also to you as a person. It improves your communication skill, sharpens creativity and thought processes, widens your knowledge base and increases confidence. The mere thought of writing may seem daunting for some, but it's smooth sailing once you learn the process.

There are various writing formats such as narrative, opinion, informative, and instructional writing. Students will work on formats as required by their curriculum.

They will work on:

• planning, drafting, editing, and publishing

• sequencing

• character and setting description

• writing hooks for the opening paragraph and closing paragraph

• using figurative language, verb phrases, expanded noun phrases, dialogues

• using descriptive words to bring their story to life

• using transitional words, sub-headings

• expanding sentences using different clauses

• constructing paragraphs

Students are encouraged to use their imagination, research, and participate in active discussions to develop content for their writing. Lessons are planned according to the student's age and competency.
