Abhay has been a student of Sangeeta Ma'am for almost 3 years. When he started he required dedicated attention and guidance. His attention span was limited and he would get distracted from the task he was given very easily. Sangeeta understood his needs and worked out his focus areas from the onset and adopted an approach that maximised his learning. She worked with immense patience and created an environment for him to be at ease. Sangeeta made the lessons very engaging and enjoyable for him. She helped him with phonic strategies to decode unfamiliar words and his reading fluency improved drastically. Her worksheets helped greatly in improving his comprehension and now he can look back at a text to retrieve literal and inferential information easily. Sangeeta also encouraged him on how to write creatively and he now uses lovely adjectives for description. Over time he has started thinking carefully about his vocabulary choices and his sentence structure as well. Sangeeta’s teaching has not only helped him embed new skills but has also been an immense boost to his overall confidence.

Dear Ms Sangeeta,

We are incredibly blessed to have found Ms. Sangeeta’s phonics class for our twins. When the twins started P1, they were still unable to read and were struggling with their schoolwork. After the mid-year Parent-Teacher-Meeting with their form teacher, we decided to source for a phonics class, because we believed that once their reading improves, it would certainly help them in both English and Mathematics. We were glad we found Ms. Sangeeta’s class. We started classes at the end of May, and within a month, I could see a vast improvement. Ms. Sangeeta taught them the basics and foundations of phonics, and they enjoyed the class so much that they would come home reciting the rules to me. These were new stuff to me as I was never taught phonics in school, and it was interesting to learn from my kids. By around September, they could read simple books and were having an easier time in school. Even the school teacher noticed the difference. The kids learnt a great deal from Ms Sangeeta in the 10 months they were with her. Her classes were so much more effective compared to the other reading classes that the twins attended before. In fact, they have learnt phonics before in kindergarten but for some reason, they just could not master it then. I have even tried exploring reading classes that use alternative techniques to phonics, e.g. whole word reading, but even that only helped them a little. We liked Ms. Sangeeta’s teaching so much that we chose to follow her not once, but twice when her classes had to be rescheduled and relocated to a different venue -first time due to the closure of one of the centres (where her classes were conducted), and second time due to redeployment by her company. We did not want to risk placing our kids with anybody else because the twins were already learning very well under her.

I'm the Parent of Raydean Arda , would like to compliment you as a good and dedicated experience teacher. My son is a late bloomer as he couldn't read and speaks well. At the age of 5yrs old, he still mumbles like a baby learns to talk. Through you Ms. Sangeeta, my son made drastic changes within 6mth of learning. He's now able to write and read words very well. My elder son had difficulty in reading English when he was in 1st grade in Singapore. His teacher suggested me to send him 1 level back, which obviously I didn't want to. A friend of mine suggested taking help from Sangeeta mam, I took him to Sangeeta mam, and within 2-3 weeks he was reading fluently. We continued for like 3 months, and then I had to leave Singapore. This was back in 2012 and my younger son was just 1 year old. Now I am in the US, and my younger son also had difficulty in reading, initially, I was expecting that this problem will go away with time, but by Nov 2017, I realized it will not and I started searching for a phonics teacher here in Princeton, NJ. But I couldn't, then I thought of contacting Sangeeta Mam again, though being in a different country and time zone, it was not easy. But she decided to help my Son, she gave him lessons over Skype, and in few months my Son was reading well. We continued for more than a year, and now I have glowing feedback for my son from his school in reading, reading comprehension, and writing.

We were the franchise owner of Kent Ridge Tutor operated at Alexandra between 2013 and 2017. It was where we had the privilege of engaging Ms. Sangeeta as a phonics teacher for children between 4 years and 10 years old.

Sangeeta taught the children very well. The number of children enrolled grew from strength to strength under her loving care. She only spent 2 afternoons per week at our centre yet nearly all classes were packed with eager students. Children loved her lessons very much as she was firm and loving.
